Good luck with the results! One of your best pieces yet in my opinion. As for jotting down some critique, I'm no background expert, so I'll be Concerned with the characters. The eyes should be more fixed on to their heads; Add some precise darkness to the contour of the eyes (you left some bright marks there which is a little off-putting). As for the lighting, there was an excessive amount of light on them in the case of background light (lightning), I think you can fix this by making the light outline on them a tad thinner. Judging from my shading experience, some small and precise parts need blackness (or allot of darkness) to make the image pop out a bit more. I circled some parts that might need it (Image is sent to you via note, I hope that's not a problem ^^") Overall, the resulting image is attractive and aside from the hair, requires more precision and in shades and light placement and some parts needed dense shading. One last thing, the hair is really well done, but I feel that your hair strands are not "free" enough. Not sure if you were trying to achieve realism in this, but let the strands loose like you did with the left pony's tail.
I wouldn't trust myself xD but thanks for reading this, I'm sure you'll find allot of errors in my so called analysis.

im alittle bit confused by the blue on the bottom of the picture, i understand the cast shadow from the ponys but whats the rest

theres a few other things but its mostly to do with the lighting and background
